Blow the whistleThe NUJ is calling on journalists to blow the whistle on their employer – to expose the damage being done to journalism through cutbacks across the media. The NUJ is calling on journalists to blow the whistle on their employer – to expose the damage being done to journalism through cutbacks across the media.
Journalists up and down the country are becoming increasingly frustrated that they are unable to do the job they trained for because of a lack of time and resources. The NUJ is now asking journalists to do what they do best. Write it down. Only working journalists can provide the evidence needed to make the case for the importance of quality journalism. Every journalist in every newsroom can play their part.
Have you been unable to follow up a cracking story because you don’t have the resources?
Are you relying on cut-and-pasted press releases instead of researching events yourself?
If journalism where you work is being undermined by cutbacks, blow the whistle by telling the NUJ.
Visit the NUJ website www.nuj.org.uk to find out how to tell your story, and read more about the fightbacks against the cuts. AW 2009-02-03
